About 6figs Editing
Dr. Anita Holzhausen
An Editor with a Keen Eye for Writing with Heart.
Hi, I’m Anita, and I love working with people who appreciate the power of words.
As a developmental editor, I work directly with talented authors in the traditional and independent publishing sectors as well as with writers who are on the path to publication.
Every story is a puzzle, and it’s my job to make sure the pieces of that story fit together in the proper places to create a vividly clear, big picture.
My ability to use multiple vantage points to enhance clarity, depth of perspective, and character development in writing stems from my 20-year collective experience as a bilingual productivity coach, translator, cultural instructor at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and professor of German at California State University.
After seven years of freelance ghostwriting, I established my first boutique publishing company in 2018. Today, my small press has expanded to include two imprints. I’m the author of 10 published novels under two pen names with a devoted, international following. I’m traditionally published in nonfiction, and I’m the creator of the Beyond Beta Reading™ editing concept.
I’m an engaged member of The Society for Editing (ACES), Editors of Color, Women’s Fiction Writers Association (WFWA), and the Nonfiction Authors Association (NFAA).
We’re called 6figs Editing because, like the fig tree, the path to publishing success is ever-winding, ever upward. Yet, the fruitful rewards are worth the hard work.
